Photojournalism

Photojournalism
Henry Cartier Bresson
In 1933 Henry Cartier Bresson captured an image near a train station, the image is well known and referred to as the decisive moment, the image is a man jumping over a puddle. Photojournalism origins relates back to war where historical and decisive moments collide. Robert caper was one of the very fist photojournalists that portrayed images of war. The art of photojournalism is at the right place at the right time. The art of photography is looking at the theatrical side to things, being patient and waiting for the right moment to come. Henry’s image has been described as portraying what the future will bring i.e. man stepping into the puddle equals England stepping into the unknown. Another theme suggests that the broken hoop refers to a broken wheel; man’s greatest invention has been broken. Some photographers believe that there is a super reality and that it sometimes reveals itself in the form of an image. The Leica was a camera was that was made in Germany in 1925 and at the time was the state of the art technology, t was compact and quiet.
